Nickname: "Lauren B Yoga"

What’s your story?

Lauren’s yoga journey began at the age of 6. She would attend gymnastic and dance classes and loved to stretch and flow. Lauren’s childhood was spent exploring the bay and golf course of Inwood Country Club, Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean in Long Beach NY, orphaning animals (everything from goldfish, bunnies, dogs, cats and horses) running barefoot eating strawberries from her grandmother’s garden and singing before she could talk—an experience that informs her life and teachings to this day.

She went on to attend her first yoga classes with her mother and the simplicity and joy of the practice live on in her practice and teachings to this day. During a two year-long move to Montreal Lauren decided to become a yoga teacher and took her teacher training in French. It is the language of sound and expression that brings the smoothest communication and connection. Through her life with yoga. She has connected with and touched many.

She shares from the depth of her own sadhana (sustained practice), her studentship in the eight-limbed path, her creative approach to asana, her reverence for Jivamukti and Forrest yoga teaching, and most significantly her relationship and extensive study in sound. With over fifteen years in studentship to the practice, Lauren offers classes that challenge students to utilize their own discernment, to discover within themselves that they are all that they seek, and to uncover the radical depth of our interconnectedness.

Based in New York, NY she now shares the teachings through her in person classes here at Revolution Yoga!

The Power of Sound:
Lauren teaches sound bath sessions here at revolution and virtually. The idea that we are all instruments, and we must use our sound frequency on this earth to elevate ourselves is shared in her interactive workshops.

It is through this practice that she found the greatest connection.

My biggest passions?

SINGING!, Yoga, surfing, tennis, horseback riding —above all—time in solitude on her meditation mat.

How do you plan on changing the world?

Humbled by the gifts and opportunities offered by her teachers, by this practice and her devotion. It is her life's work to honor what has come before and what will carry on, and to offer the teachings with all the integrity she has. To bring her students to the self realization of all that they are is all that is inside of them.

How many passport stamps to I have?

Greece, Scotland, Mexico, Aruba, and Montreal (I lived there for two years and became a yoga teacher there!)
